Local Whiskers is a foster-based rescue organization. Our space to foster is very limited, so we focus on outdoor at-risk cats. We gathered some resources to help people in the event they may have to surrender a pet. There are different avenues you can try to find your pet a new loving home.
We suggest that you create an adoption profile for your pet on both of these websites to find potential adopters. Good photos and description are SO important.
Once you make a profile, potential adopters will see them on these national websites and contact you regarding adoption. Make sure you ask a small rehoming fee . Giving cats away for free invites people looking for animals for dogfighting bait and torture. Make sure you vet potential adopters carefully and only contact caring potential adopters.

>>> PLEASE do not surrender any animal to the SPCA! They will most likely be euthanized. Rescue waiting lists are common and needed, since most rescues have limited space. However, you do need to follow up with them every few weeks.
